I was born and raised in Colombia, South America where I got my bachelor degree as a Social Worker. I immigrated to this country in 1987 and came to live in San Jose, California where I received, in 1993, my master in Social Work from the San Jose State University. On 1997, I moved to Florida and have been working in the mental health field since then.
I have been involved with the Nurturing Parenting® Program since 2005 when I joined healthy mothers, healthy babies as the manager for the M.O.M.S program. This is a program that provides counseling, parenting and case management to women that are suffering prenatal or postpartum depression. Four counselors implement those services in English, Spanish and Creole through home visits. At M.O.M.S we have been mainly using the Infants, Toddlers, and Preschoolers, Prenatal and Crianza con Carino curriculums.
I reside in Miami with my husband and our daughter who was born in 2005.
