Hailey was raised in Chester County, Pennsylvania and moved to Massachusetts in 2005 to complete her Bachelor degree in Social Work. In 2009, Hailey graduated from Gordon College with a double major in Social Work, Sociology and a minor in Spanish and chose to remain in MA.
Upon completing college, Hailey became an Intensive Care Coordinator for the state’s wraparound program. Hailey provided Intensive Care Coordination for children and youth with serious emotional disturbance and complex needs. Hailey created care plans that are a mix of provider and community-based services. Hailey worked collaboratively with families to develop individualized, targeted care plans that help guide parents by setting measurable, achievable goals and outcomes.
In 2011, Hailey earner her Masters of Social Work at Wheelock College and completed her internship at a high school that provides an alternative educational experience in grades K to 12 for students who typically present with a combination of social, emotional and psychological challenges that impact their academic achievement. She integrated and focused on both academic and social skills, including strategies to acquire new knowledge, modify behavior and develop positive peer and adult relationships.
Since gaining her Master’s degree, Hailey has worked as the Family Service Coordinator through Pathways Cape Ann Families located in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Cape Ann Families offers a variety of family-focused programs aimed at supporting and enhancing a healthy family life. Cape Ann Families’ community-outreach efforts positively impact hundreds of children and parents each year with educational programming, support and guidance. Cape Ann Families is comprised of four main programs: teen mentoring, parent mentoring, parent support groups, and The Nurturing Parenting® Program. Most recently she was promoted to the Director of Family & Community Programs and oversees the Salem Family Resource Center.
On a personal note, Hailey has been an advocate for reducing the risk of child abuse and neglect for years. Growing up as a biological child in a special needs foster home, her whole life was surrounded by the ongoing impact of child abuse and neglect in children. As a result, she has dedicated her career to preventing and educating parents about proper child-rearing practices.
