Mayemona Franklin is a Nationally Recognized Nurturing Parenting® Program Trainer/Consultant and Facilitator who has devoted her career to strengthening families, empowering educators, and building nurturing communities. Following her tenure with Methodist Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital Community Outreach as Lead Early Childhood Quality Coach for Child Care Resource and Referral, Mayemona is now fully dedicating her time and expertise to expanding access to high-quality Nurturing Parenting® training.

With more than a decade of experience in early childhood education, family engagement, and professional development, Mayemona has provided individualized coaching, technical assistance, and training to child care programs across Tennessee. In her former role, she worked closely with the Tennessee Department of Human Services (DHS) Licensing Division and led Child Care Directors’ Meetings and Peer Learning Groups that fostered collaboration, leadership growth, and continuous quality improvement within the early learning community.

Previously, as a Nurturing Parenting Specialist for the Early Success Coalition, Mayemona facilitated evidence-based parenting classes throughout Shelby County, TN—serving families in schools, child care centers, and community settings. Her innovative approach and passion for family empowerment led her to become a respected Trainer-Consultant for the Nurturing Parenting® Programs, training and mentoring professionals nationwide to implement nurturing, trauma-informed practices that strengthen parent-child relationships and build family resilience.

Mayemona is also the Chair of the Shelby County Community Advisory Board (CAB), which partners with the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services to promote child safety, family well-being, and community collaboration.

A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Mayemona earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Memphis and holds an AIMHiTN Endorsement for Culturally Sensitive, Relationship-Focused Practice Promoting Infant Mental Health® as an Infant Family Associate.  Her specialized training includes Stewards of Children, Child and Adolescent Suicide Awareness and Prevention, Infant Mental Health, Strengthening Families Protective Factors, and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).

Mayemona’s work reflects her unwavering dedication to nurturing both children and the professionals who serve them. She is known for her innovative facilitation style, commitment to excellence, and ability to deliver powerful, engaging, and transformative training experiences that leave a lasting impact on individuals and communities alike.
