Dr. Dr. Pamela Higgins Saulsberry has an extensive
history of community social service directed at families
and child welfare issues. She is a Professor of Social
Work with over 25 years of experience in the classroom
and in parenting education.
Dr. Saulsberry is a Certified Effective Black Parenting
Instructor, a Trainer of Trainers for the Nurturing
the Families of Louisiana Project, as well as the
founder of Reach Adolescent Potential (also Respectful
African American Parenting, and Respectful African
American Partnering RAP), a community-based program
in operation since 1985. She has a long standing commitment
to community based services which empower individuals
to address the obstacles they may face in life.
Dr. Saulsberry's passions are social justice issues
indicated by her professional choices of Social Worker
and a Professor. The involvements that assisted her
in empowering or motivating individuals are the ones
that mean the most to her and continue to be her professional
and personal inspiration. She maintains an active
role as a presenter, consultant and community activist.
Her commitments to macro community practice have earned
her several awards, including CAMEO Award for Outstanding
Leadership in Education and the Outstanding Business
and Professional Women of the Year award.
