Karen Cady

Karen Cady has a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Bachelor of Arts in Managerial Leadership. Karen has worked for many years with families in various settings. As a case manager for teen parents in a school based program, providing life skills and parenting education. While studying for her Master's Degree, Karen was employed by an agency that contracted wtih the Child Protective Services. She worked with families who had lost custody of their children and were working to become reunited. Karen provided training in parenting and life skills to these families. While completing her internship she worked with families as a family therapist in a Juvenile Detention Center, providing family therapy to families whose sons were incarcerated. Upon completion of her Master's Degree Karen worked as a therapist in a psychiatric hospital working with families and children in crisis. Karen is currently a Clinical Supervisor in a Day Treatment Center for children with mental illness. Karen began facilitating Nurturing Parenting groups in 1998 and became a national trainer in 2000.
