Jennifer
Moss, MA is a national trainer/consultant for the Nurturing Parenting Programs
and currently employed by the Institute for Family Enrichment. Jennifer
moved to the island over five years ago. Originally from New York, she has become
more accustomed to island life and feels strongly pulled to make a difference
for families. She has stated that "no matter what color skin or how many
years married or separated, parenthood is our common thread." Jennifer is
committed to helping families realize their potential and support them during
the sometimes painful process of changing and growing. Jennifer has been
working in social services for almost ten years after having majored in sexology
at VT College of Norwich University. Although this focus emits smirks and giggles,
Jennifer now holds a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Counseling and has
her own private family practice. In addition to her primary position as island
coordinator for the Nurturing Parenting program (offered through the Institute
for Family Enrichment), she also works as a group facilitator in various groups
for the Developing Options to Violence Program at Child and Family Service. Throughout
the very special process of piloting the Nurturing the Families of Hawaii Parenting
Program, and ongoing facilitation of weekly classes, Jennifer is focused on training
other agencies and professionals on the value of nurturing implementation and
assessments. Lastly but most importantly, Jennifer is the single mother
of two young children and she utilizes her everyday skills, with humor and knowledge,
relying on her own experiences of nurturing parenting and in her own words, "continuously
creating the parenting survival tool kit". #84 Jennifer Moss
