Janet Lawrence Garland

Janet has a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and her work in nursing has been primarily through Teton County Public Health (since 1991) working with a wide range of clients and programs.

Her passion has been working with families through their pregnancies and newborn care times and for the last four years with parenting classes.

Janet attended two facilitator trainings taught by trainers out of California and Colorado in 2001 and 2002. She has facilitated the Nurturing Program for Parents and Their Infants, Toddlers and Preschoolers, the Nurturing Program for Parents and Their School-age child and the Home Based curriculum for the past four years.

Janet then attended a Train the Trainer conference in California in 2003. She has been doing community trainings for the last two years and has been involved in community planning for parenting classes. She applied for and was recognized as a National Trainer/Consultant for the Nurturing Parenting Programs in 2005. She is familiar with several other Nurturing Parenting programs through her role as a consultant for the classes that have been established in her community including the programs Crianza Con Carino, Nurturing Program for Parents and Adolescents, Home Based and School Based programs.

Janet resides in Jackson, WY (since 1988) and is the mother of two energetic school aged boys and has been a partner to her husband for over ½ of her life! She enjoys spending time with her family in the outdoors.
