Heather Kemp

Eight years ago Heather Kemp was anxiously awaiting the birth of her baby. Her dreams as a new mother were modest. Baby Madelyn would have dark curly hair and a sweet disposition. This did not seem unreasonable. However, on the day of her daughter's birth the anticipated Madelyn was nowhere in sight and Hannah of the bright red hair made her raucous appearance. Heather's unpredictable nurturing journey began. Obviously, Heather needed a manual and four years ago, she got one with her introduction to the Nurturing Parents Program.

Heather has been working with families since 1997 after receiving her bachelor degree in Psychology. Her first experience was with families in the process of separating from abusive spouses through an in-home support project. That blossomed into directing several different family support programs including parent education groups, single parent support groups, teen parent education, and family nights. Working with families is her passion and she continues to find ways to gain more knowledge about better serving the families of her community.
