Nurturing Parenting Program is part of Child Abuse Prevention Services in the
Fairfax County (Virginia) Department of Family Services. The program has been
in existence at this site since 1990, and since that time 130 programs have been
conducted. The unit offers several types of Nurturing Programs including: Infants,
Toddlers, Preschoolers; School-Age; Parent and Adolescent; and the African-American
curriculum - all in English. Offered in Spanish are both Crianza Con Carino Programs
(Birth to Five and 4 - 12). Nancy Coffey and Margie Laundry. Nancy has
her LCSW, MSW, and ACSW. She has been part of the Nurturing Parenting unit since
