Communities Through Nurturing
Amy Bloom Connolly, M.S. is a master
facilitator with over thirty years experience working with individuals and groups
in education, health and human services. She has conducted over 1,000 lively,
informative, and interactive workshops in a wide variety of settings, equally
as comfortable with employees in corporate boardrooms; staff of state agencies;
volunteers, and residents of low-income neighborhoods and domestic violence shelters. In
addition to working as a Nationally Recognized Trainer/Consultant with the Nurturing
Parenting Programs, she is the Developer & Director of the S.H.I.N.E. Program
(Support ~ Honor ~ Inspire ~ Nurture ~ Evolve) which uses mindfulness as a basis
for developing personal and community strengths in low-income communities. ELDERS.H.I.N.E,
for low-income elders, is now it its third exciting year, and a new S.H.I.N.E.
program for homeless women began in the fall of 2007. In addition, since 2003
she has been teaching Nurturing Ourselves Through Mindfulness, an 8 week course
adapted from the Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction work of Jon Kabat-Zinn at
the University of Massachusetts.
Amy cultivates mindfulness in daily
life and skillfully engages participants, creating group environments which are
safe, supportive, and conducive to transformational learning. Services
