Escobar currently is the Project Coordinator for Precious Minds New Connections
for the Mexican American Unity Council in San Antonio, Texas. Angela has
been in the educational field and early childhood for over 10 years. She has been
an early childhood, elementary, and middle school educator in the public school
sector. A graduate of Sul Ross State University with a B.A. in Interdisciplinary
Studies and 21 hours towards a Masters in Counseling, Angela has pushed working
towards promoting healthy families. She has held vice chairperson for the school
board of La Escuela De Las Americas, a bilingual charter school that works closely
with the Hispanic community of San Antonio, Texas.
Angela currently lives
in San Antonio, Texas with her loving partner Javier and her two wonderful children,
Katyá Isabélla and José Alán. Having lost her first
child, Aléxa Andréa, to a neurological disease, she understands
the importance of promoting a nurturing environment and the importance of having
her families understanding the value each child has and the blessing each brings.
She feels blessed to provide a loving environment to her two children and wants
others to feel the same joy and pride in being a nurturing parent. As an adoptee,
Angela also knows the importance of providing an atmosphere that promotes self
esteem and self worth to young children who may be struggling with those crucial
issues. These are the foundations that have molded her and which inspire her to
promote this curriculum to other families.
