Families
Enhancing
Nurturing Parenting Skills in African American Families
is a supplement to any of the Nurturing Programs. The program
has four content areas with four 1-1/2 to 2 hour activities
for a total of 32 hours of education.
African-American parents discuss difference and its place
in America, spirituality and the importance of the Black
Church, the slave experience and how it has influenced Black
parenting patterns, ways to transcend oppression, how to
teach a dual consciousness, and teaching children to access
resources.

Parenting Program
"Nurturing
God's Way" Parenting Program for Christian Families,
written by Sue Laney and Nancy McClure, is a parenting program
designed specifically for parents who utilize the scripture
of the Bible to guide their parenting attitudes and practices.
This cultural adaptation of the Nurturing Parenting Program®
incorporates the basic philosophy of nurturing parenting
while assisting parents in strengthening their relationship
with God, modeling Christian principles and building a nurturing
Christian family lifestyle.
