Community Based Education Program®


Seven Individual Community Based Lessons to Strengthen the Bonds of Couples and Families in the Military

Lessons include:

  • The Uniqueness of Military Family Life
  • Keeping a Relationship Together
  • Dealing with Deployment and Separation
  • Helping Children Cope with Deployment
  • Staying Connected during Deployment
  • Reuniting: Post Deployment
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Parents and Spouses explore:

  • The uniqueness of being a military couple and family.
    Ways families can keep their marital and parental relationships strong.
    Strategies to support each other through the stresses of deployment and separation.
  • Ways to help children cope with the separation and loss of a parent.
  • Strategies in reunifying as a spouse and parent.
  • How to handle situations of family members returning with permanent disabilities.
  • Strategies to assist returning military personnel in reunifying back into the family and community.
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), understanding the condition, how to recognize signs of PTSD, and how to help loved ones seek proper treatment.

CD includes:

  • Seven individual lessons each approximately 90 minutes long.
  • Lesson Plans that include goals, objectives, discussion topics, interactive activities, worksheets, and handouts for participants.
  • Color slides are included on the CD designed for overhead and/or Power Point presentations to meet your style of training.
  • Activities that inform, engage and empower participants in developing new skills and increasing their understanding of the issues unique to military families.
  • Lessons also include marketing and workshop tools that can be customized with your agency, name, location, and date and time of the workshop.  Customizing options:  flyers, postcards, name tags, “This Way” sign and a choice of five certificates of completion.
  • No need for hours of preparation. Each lesson comes with all the materials you need to conduct your workshop.
  • Home practice assignments allow parents the chance to use and share the knowledge gained in class at home with their family and friends.
