Please Note: Existing paper test forms and the CD ROM version (Note: CD Rom version is NO LONGER AVAILABLE) are not compatible with the AAPI OnLine scoring systems. Scroll down to Administration of the AAPI, Manual Inventory to learn more about the online scoring systems and downloading free unlimited Online Test Forms A and B.
Agency Number: Each agency will have a unique name and number for identification purposes on AAPI Online.
AAPI Administrator for Your Agency: You will be asked to identify your AAPI administrator. The AAPI administrator
- Sets up the account
- Establishes the password
- Purchases the test administrations
- Has access to all data (participant profiles)
- Identifies programs and program facilitators
Programs: Your agency can have one or more programs. The program name can be any combination of letters, numbers and symbols.
Programs are ways to identify the specific interventions running in your agency. Your agency might be offering more than one type of parenting intervention -- for example, Nurturing Parenting Program, Active Parenting Program, STEP Program, etc. Establishing separate programs allows you to gather data on the effectiveness of individual interventions. Or, you might want to establish a separate program for each member of your clinical staff to track outcome measures. Or you might wish to establish separate programs for different funding sources. Establishing programs allows you to track the effectiveness of your interventions in a number of ways.
Program Facilitators: AAPI administrators identify program facilitators. Program facilitators may key in and access data (participant profiles).
A program facilitator can be a clinical or a support staff member. Taking into account confidentiality requirements, the AAPI administrator decides what programs and participant profiles are accessible to what facilitators.
Participants: Clients who receive services from the agency are called participants. Each participant has a unique ID number. Participants are pre- and post-tested using the AAPI Online Inventory. There are two ways to take the AAPI Inventory -- Interactive Inventory or Manual Inventory (see below).
Participant ID Number: AAPI Online will assign a unique ID number to each participant.
Inventories: There are two ways to take the AAPI Inventory -- Interactive Inventory or Manual Inventory.
- With the Interactive Inventory, the participant reads or listens to the answers from the computer screens and inputs answers him- or herself.
- With the Manual Inventory, the facilitator (or staff person) uses the paper version of the AAPI on which the participant has circled his or her answers to rapidly type in the responses on a single screen. By using the Manual Inventory option, a facilitator can enter a large quantity of AAPIs in a short amount of time. Existing published Test Forms A and B are not compatible with the online Manual Inventory scoring system and will not be scored accurately. The online test forms are formatted differently and are the only forms that will work with the online Manual scoring system. With the AAPI Online, once you establish an account, you can download unlimited free test forms.
Inventory Details: Upon completion of either Form A or B, details will be displayed of each participant. Included in the details are: raw and sten scores; demographic information; and item response values.
Parenting Profiles: Each participant will have separate Parenting Profiles for Forms A and B. A combined Parenting Profile for A and B scores is also available. The Parenting Profiles can be downloaded and viewed with Adobe Acrobat in PDF form.
Program Profiles: Data for all participants in a program can also be viewed including: average program scores per Construct; standard deviations; dates of first and last administrations per participant; and bar graphs detailing sten scores for each program participant.
Data Download: Participant data can be exported as a tab-delimited text file, which can then be imported directly into your favorite spreadsheet program (such as Microsoft Excel).
