Sue Galvez
I was born and raised in Fairfield, California. For the past twenty-six years I have worked in the substance abuse field in Solano County in various positions. The bulk of my employment has consisted of facilitating groups of various types: groups for children 0-5 years of age whose parents were experiencing substance abuse problems; groups for at risk teens and teens experiencing problems with substance abuse and behavioral problems; and groups for adults experiencing problems with substance abuse, co-dependency, and/or domestic violence.
For the past five years I have been employed with Youth and Family Services, Jail Outreach Treatment Program. I have had the pleasure of facilitating and co-facilitating the Nurturing Program for Families in Substance Treatment and Recovery and the Nurturing Fathers Program Curriculum in Solano County Detention Facilities. I have also co-facilitated the Nurturing Program for Parents and Adolescents for juvenile offenders.
I have been married for twenty years, and have two awesome sons, ages eighteen and ten. I am currently attending St. Mary's College and expect to receive my B.A. Degree in December 2005 in Human and Community Services.
